Here's one of the nicest examples of an early silver cob that we have had the privilege of owning. This early Philip II Spanish colonial silver 2 reales was struck under the authority of Alonso de Rincon, who was the first assayer at the freshly built Potosi Mint in Bolivia. This example is in wonderful shape, considering the natural patina, nice details and the fact that it is not a sea-salvaged example, like so many others offered for sale. It is considered the first year of issue for the series struck in Potosi. The weight is 6.74 grams. You will receive the exact coin shown in the photos.
