Very rare example (wear wise) of an early 8 reales COB from Potosi Bolivia. Although the NGC census tends to breakdown dating early COBs (for example, there is no 1605-13 R listed) there are only a handful of AU coins in the first 50 years of Potosi COBs. The 1605-12 R is listed in Sedwick as P 15, as Baltasar Ramos Leceta. I acquired this coin from a Spanish dealer, so recent to the US market. A bit crude, as made.
