Potosi, Bolivia 8 Reale Silver Cob Pillars & Waves approx 25 Grams & Gold Chain. I inherited this coin and chain from my grandfather Earl R Wall who worked for Standard Oil/Chevron as a geologist.
Between 1920 and 1940 he spent considerable time exploring Central and South America and somewhere along the way acquired this coin. The gold chain measures about 13 inches and weighs approx 8.5 grams and has an interesting design on every other section.I do not know what kind of gold the chain is made with and there is no marking I could find. I weighed both the chain and the coin on my postal scale so the exact weight is probably off by fractions of a gram.
